Chelsea Offer John Terry New Deal

The Chelsea captain John Terry has been offered a one-year contract extension, the London club have announced. But according to the report, Terry is still considering the offer. It was gathered that Terry and his agent met the club’s hierarchy this week to discuss his future at the club after it was widely expected he would be released when his contract ends on June 30.

However, Chelsea directors Marina Granovskaia and Bruce Buck offered a fresh deal for Terry to continue next season under the incoming head coach, Antonio Conte. The English defender will consider Chelsea’s proposal against those he has received from elsewhere, including China. The Chinese Super League clubs Shanghai SIPG and Jiangsu Suning have been credited with an interest. Chelsea tweeted on Friday: “It is announced in the press conference that John Terry has been offered a one-year contract extension. John is considering the offer.” Terry, 35, made his Chelsea debut in 1998. He has won four Premier League titles, five FA Cups and three League Cups, and has winner’s medals in the Champions League and Europa League, having captained the team more than 500 times.
