Empower54's art gala was on Saturday April 30th at the prestigious Besharat art gallery in Atlanta, during which, paintings from Nigerian artists were auctioned to support Empower54's ongoing of rebuilding schools destroyed by Boko Haram in North East Nigeria.
At the event, representing the Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettimma, was his SA on Media and communications, Isa Gusau, Claire Angelle (Director of International Affairs, City of Atlanta), Councilman Kwanza Hall, Representative Rahn Mayo, Kat Graham (Vampire Diaries), and many other US government officials.
During the gala, Councilman Kwanza Hall presented Empower54 with a Proclamation of support and the Governor of Georgia also sent a letter of Commendation which was presented by Val Price Littleton and Christiana Torere.
It was a beautiful evening celebrating the need for people to #RiseAboveTerror and support each others good works. Many guests attended the event from Nigeria, UK and different states in the US.
The Nigerian artists whose works were auctioned are El-Dragg Leonard Okwoju, Damola Adepoju, Bimbo Adenugba, Abdulrazaq Ahmed, Shonibare Olatunbosun, Stanley Anyanwu and Tega Akpokoma.
